Barr has always been shaped by the Nordic Sea region—the coastline, the seasons, and the traditions that guide our cooking.
For now, you’ll find us in residence at Barr at noma, where we gather around one long table and continue our story through shared meals until May 17.
Back home on Strandgade, a new chapter is taking shape. Our restaurant is currently undergoing a full renovation, both downstairs and Upstairs at Barr. As we return, the DNA of Barr remains at the core — some of the classics you know and love, alongside a sense of fresh, seasonal energy.
We’ve also taken time to build a wine cellar we’re truly excited about, moving between the accessible and the more adventurous. Beer remains close to who we are, now joined by a growing cocktail offering.
With our return to the harbor, it also feels like the right moment to open the space in new ways — for a drink outside on a sunny afternoon, a small snack, a long lunch, or a quick dinner.
Whether you stop by for a glass or stay for a full experience, you’re always welcome at Barr.

Launching summer 2026
Launching this summer, Upstairs at Barr will offer a dedicated space for private and semi-private gatherings—ranging from intimate dinners and celebrations to weddings, confirmations, and small conferences.
Set above our main dining room and overlooking Copenhagen’s harbour, the space is designed for hosting—warm, relaxed, and tailored to each occasion.
With its own kitchen, Upstairs at Barr will be serviced independently, allowing us to create menus specifically for your group—rooted in the seasons and shaped around the Barr way of sharing food.
Whether you are planning a seated dinner or a more flexible gathering, our team will be on hand to coordinate every detail and create a memorable experience.
